The Knitted Farmyard one year on - progress
Well, a huge amount of progress has been made on the knitted farmyard, the end is in sight! The ploughed fields need to be sewn down, and there is another one to do, and then I move on to the second piece of rug canvas which will be more fantasy land, it will include a knitted garden theme, the base for the castle, and moat, and of course, then all the little bushes, animals, and people.

Knitted farmyard update
Well, I have now completed the little stream/river leading into a pond. The original ploughed field actually became the bridge. It is stitched down either side but free over the river, allowing small toys to pass underneath, which has already been enjoyed by little people.

Knitted farmyard and castle photo's

This is a pattern I had used recently for a scarf, called Logan from a knitting magazine, and I thought it makes a good ploughed field.
Green meadow, with bushes.
The basic layout is very similar to the one used in the knitted farmyard book, with meadows, hayfields, cut grass, stubble, and stream with a bridge, a pond and little roads running through.
I will use several yarns to create a watery effect in the moat. I used fabric to mark it out, and then decided to keep it as a way of making the whole thing stronger, especially as this is where the wooden toy castle will sit, which is heavy.

The Knitted Farmyard
Hi there,.......Well I'm completely new to all this blogging malarkey, but I've been enjoying reading so many other peoples crafting and knitting blogs lately, I thought it was time to give it a go.
I have many unfinished craft projects, and I'm thinking that a few online followers might give me the boost I need to get them done, as well as the practice taking photos with my digital SLR that I don't know how to get the best from yet!
So, The first post is about the knitted farmyard, which I am modifying to also include a large wooden toy castle and knights.
More details and photo's later.
