Knitted farmyard and castle photo's

Add caption
Here you can see the layout of what will eventually become the knitted farmyard, in addition to the area for the castle, surrounded by a Moat. The large white square will be knitted in textured slip stitch, often used for dishcloths, but as it gives a lovely brickwork type effect, I decided it would work well for a courtyard too. I found the pattern on Ravelry.
This is a pattern I had used recently for a scarf, called Logan from a knitting magazine, and I thought it makes a good ploughed field.
Green meadow, with bushes.
The basic layout is very similar to the one used in the knitted farmyard book, with meadows, hayfields, cut grass, stubble, and stream with a bridge, a pond and little roads running through.
I will use several yarns to create a watery effect in the moat. I used fabric to mark it out, and then decided to keep it as a way of making the whole thing stronger, especially as this is where the wooden toy castle will sit, which is heavy.
